Hand-chiseled from Urapán wood on an electric lathe, these classic wooden peg dolls are finished with USA-made non-toxic water-based paints. Each doll is unique and safe for little hands. Goose Grease designs the dolls in Brooklyn and works with artisans in Bogotá, Colombia to help reproduce the designs. Crafted with sustainably-harvested trees; when one tree is used, two are planted. Each doll is carefully hand-drawn and hand-painted from start to finish.

Purchased for a grandchild at request of a parent. I would not choose to purchase due to the ‘scientists’ being 25% female, 25% African American. Why not 50%? What message does this send to children. Plus, why not lab coats instead of the bizarre clothing scientists wear in this set.
